Share

With the recent decrease in COVID-19 cases in our community, The Queen’s Health Systems is pleased to announce the relaxing of some masking requirements.

  1. Visitors are no longer required to wear masks, unless required by the patient’s specific illness (transmission-based precaution).  Visitors with respiratory symptoms should not come to the hospital.
  2. Patients are no longer required to wear masks, unless required by their specific illness (transmission-based precaution).  Staff will educate patients on appropriate respiratory hygiene and cough etiquette.
  3. Staff are no longer required to wear masks when not providing direct patient care, unless required by the patient’s specific illness (transmission-based precautions).  Surgical masks are still required for all direct patient care.
  4. Private practices (non-QUMG) leasing space in Queen’s facilities may make their own masking policies for their offices.
  5. Staff, visitors, and patients will not be discriminated against for masking.

Changes will take effect Monday, May 22nd 2023.
