The Queen’s Orthopedic Bone Health Center has partnered with the American Orthopaedic Association’s Own the Bone program, a national quality improvement initiative to address the osteoporosis treatment gap and prevent fragility fractures like the one you have from recurring. Our center is the first clinic in Hawai‘i specializing in osteoporosis prevention and treatment services.
The Queen’s Orthopedic Bone Health Center and Fracture Liaison Program, through its partnership with Own the Bone, services patients who have sustained a fragility fracture due to a fall from standing height or less, or in the absence of obvious trauma.
Including:
Osteoporosis, also known as brittle bone or porous bone, is a disease characterized by low bone mass, which makes bones more likely to break.
Up to 50 percent of women and 25 percent of men will sustain fragility fractures – broken bones caused by little or no trauma, such as a fall from standing height – often associated with osteoporosis.
Fractures due to osteoporosis exceed the number of breast cancer, stroke, and heart attacks combined.
We provide high quality, holistic orthopedic care, specializing in spine-related disorders, total joint replacement, and traumatic injuries.
