1. Introduction  This Privacy Policy ( “Policy” ) describes how The Queen’s Health System ( “QHS,” “us,” “our,” or “we” ) collects, uses, and discloses personal information from or about you through the websites we maintain that link to this Policy, including queens.org ( the “Site” ).

This Policy does not apply to other online services, such as websites and mobile applications, that we own, provide, or maintain, but do not post a link to this Policy.

This Policy also does not apply to protected health information that we collect from individuals pursuant to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. Information regarding our privacy practices with respect to protected health information under HIPAA can be found in the Notice of Privacy Practices provided to you at the time of collection.

2. What Personal Information is Collected 

We may obtain personal information through the Site, such as when you register a Community Investment application account, donate money to QHS, or register for events. Personal information we collect will vary depending on your interactions with us. Personal information may include contact information (such as name, email address, postal address, and phone number), business contact information (such as your employer and title), and payment and billing information (such as when you make a donation).

3. Cookies and Other Similar Technologies 

We or our vendors may use cookies, web beacons, pixels, and other similar technologies on certain webpages or locations of the Site for various purposes, including to provide functionality of the Site, to improve performance of the Site, to personalize your interactions with us, and to analyze and better understand how the Site are being used. These technologies may collect certain information, such as device identifiers, your IP address, all of the areas within the Site that you visit, and the length and time of the visit.

We have also implemented Google reCAPTCHA to protect our Site from fraud and abuse. We may implement data modification and obfuscation tools to help us limit how certain information may be collected from vendors through online tracking technologies. These tools act as an intermediary between the Site and cookies and similar technologies, and allow us to adjust how such technologies interact with our Site.

Vendors may collect personal information on our behalf, such as processing payment information in relation to donations.

In addition, we may disclose personal information in the event we sell or transfer all or a portion of our business assets (e.g., further to a merger, liquidation, reorganization, or any other business transaction, including negotiations of such transactions).

We use a variety of information security measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet and no means of electronic or physical storage is absolutely secure. As such, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us electronically.

When using the Site, you may come across links or interactive features related to third-party websites and services that we do not operate or control. If you provide your personal information to that third party through its websites or services, you will be subject to that third party’s privacy practices, policies, and terms of use. This includes any online services operated by our vendors that provide us your personal information at your direction (such as certain portals or features provided by a vendor). For example, certain third-party interactive features may allow you to share Site content to your social media profile. This Policy does not apply to any personal information that you provide to a third-party website or service.

This Policy is subject to change at our discretion. We will notify you of changes to this Policy by posting an updated version on our Site and updated the “Effective Date” at the top of this page. Any changes to this Policy will be effective as of the “Effective Date” date at the top of this page, unless otherwise expressly indicated.
