Nick Vandenraadt, RN, has been named NHCH’s new trauma coordinator. Prior to his new assignment, Nick served as charge nurse in the same-day surgery and post-anesthesia care units.
Nick began his medical career first as a medic and then as a nurse during a 10-year stint in the US Army. Assignments included ICU, periop and MICU, and an assignment at the West Point military academy hospital. While at West Point, Nick helped coach the West Point skydiving team.
Prior to moving to the Big Island, Nick lived on Oahu where he completed his bachelor’s degree in nursing at Hawaii Pacific University, and enjoyed surfing and teaching skydiving.
Nick keeps busy with his two-year-old daughter, Naveen, and is looking forward to working with patients as well as education and community outreach as part of his new assignment.
