Family and friends may reach patients through Queen’s operators at 808-691-1000 from 7:00 am – 10:00 pm. Before and after hours calls will be referred to the nurses’ station to ensure that rest is not disturbed.

The Queen’s Medical Center provides Pet Therapy to aid healing and provide some cheer to our patients. Patients may arrange for a visit from a canine volunteer through Volunteer Services. Note: During the COVID-19 pandemic, volunteer services is temporarily suspending comfort dog services.
Queen’s can help you obtain equipment for the hearing and speech-impaired, such as Text Telephones (TTY), amplified and speaker telephones and closed captioned devices. For more information, contact The Queen’s IT Help Desk at 691-4357.
Interpreters for patients are available at no cost for foreign languages as well as American Sign Language. The care team is able to assist with interpreter service needs. For additional assistance, Patient Relations is available by phone at 808-691-4602 (Monday-Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm) or by email at patientrelations@queens.org.
Guided Imagery uses your imagination to help you relax and decrease pain. If you wish, someone who is trained in this relaxation method can help you to find the imagery that works best for you. Sessions are provided by volunteers and are free of charge.
Energy-based treatments that can positively affect physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health and aid in the reduction of pain and enable relaxation. Sessions are provided by volunteers and are free of charge.
For your convenience, Queen’s is pleased to offer you and your guests free Wi-Fi in patient rooms and all public areas of the hospital. Select QMCGUEST to log in and view instructions and usage restrictions.
Stamps may be purchased at the Gift Shop at the Queen’s Main Lobby. The Mailroom staff delivers the mail to patients’ rooms. After you leave, the mail that arrives at The Queen’s Medical Center will be returned to the sender.
Queen’s volunteers can bring a book cart to your bedside at your request so you may select a book or magazine to read. If a volunteer is available, reading service may also be provided.
Volunteer musicians play an assortment of music genres and instruments to inspire and soothe.
The newspapers are complimentary from Food Services. Please request for the Newspaper when your breakfast is served
We encourage you to leave jewelry, money, or other valuables at home or send them home with your family when you check in. If this is not possible, a hospital safety deposit box is available in Patient Financial Services. Your valuables will not be released to family or friends without your written consent and proof of identity.
At Your Request Room Service Dining encourages patients to order meals over the phone and select when they would like to dine. Available in each patient room, Room Service menus offer fresh, healthy options.
Patients, caregivers, or family members may order meals from the hospital room by dialing ext. 14331(option 1) or from outside the hospital by dialing 808-691-4331. Meals can be ordered before mealtime or up to a day in advance. Customer Service Representatives are available to take meal orders from 6:30 am – 10:30 pm, 7 days a week. Dining hours are from 6:30 am – 6:30 pm.
Meals are also available for guests and family members and may be ordered through the Service Response Center (SRC) at the same the patient’s meal is ordered for a reasonable price.
