Critical Care

The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at The Queen’s Medical Center – West O‘ahu cares for critically ill patients who live in Central and West Oahu. The MICU’s 10-bed unit and fully integrated care team provides patients, ages 18 and above, with comprehensive, 24/7 care. Our advanced approaches, such as mechanical ventilation, endoscopy, continuous renal replacement therapy, and other support measures ensure the delivery of the best treatment available.

Our Team

Physicians in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Queen’s – West O‘ahu are double board-certified in internal medicine and critical care by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Our multidisciplinary care team includes physicians, highly trained critical care nurses, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, nutritionists, pharmacists and social workers. Beyond monitoring and treating illness, the team believes in building a strong connection with patients and their families, keeping both at the center of care.
