The Queen’s Medical Center Names Kelly Johnson Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer

HONOLULU – The Queen’s Medical Center (Queen’s) has named Kelly Johnson, PhD, RN, NEA-BC as Senior Vice President and System Chief Nursing Officer.

Johnson replaces Madeline “Mimi” Harris, who is retiring after 44 years of service to Queen’s, the last four years as Chief Nursing Officer.

Johnson will work to develop and administer business and strategic plans to meet the goals and objectives of Queen’s as it relates to the clinical practice of nursing. She will also develop the vision of Queen’s nursing.

Johnson is a seasoned senior health care executive with over 27 years of experience as a Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Patient Care Services in top-ranked health care organizations.

She previously served as VP of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals in San Francisco and Oakland, California. She also served as VP of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer at Stanford Children’s Health Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital.

Johnson has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Northern Colorado, a Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner (MSN-FNP) from the University of California San Francisco, and a PhD from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.
