Diagnostic X-Ray

Imaging at The Queen’s Medical Center – West O‘ahu offers x-rays for patients who are hospitalized, as well as walk-in services at a number of convenient outpatient locations.

X-rays use a very small dose of ionizing radiation to produce pictures of the inside of the body. It is used to evaluate the lungs, heart and chest wall and may be used to help diagnose shortness of breath, persistent cough, fever, chest pain or injury. The procedure assists in diagnosing and monitoring treatment for a variety of lung conditions such as pneumonia, emphysema and cancer.

For our non-hospitalized patients, our x-ray services do not require an appointment. Once your doctor has referred you for this procedure, you can walk into our Imaging center during business hours without an appointment.

Radiation Exposure from X-Ray and Other Imaging Procedures

Read our brochure to learn more about exposure to ionizing radiation from imaging tests compared to naturally occurring background radiation.
