“Giving from the heart” and “passionate about our patients” is how Cindy Kamikawa, President, North Hawaii Community Hospital, and other leaders described the hospital’s volunteers.

The hospital’s volunteers were recently recognized at a special luncheon created by the nutrition services staff as part of National Volunteer Appreciation Week.

North Hawaii Community Hospital’s volunteers have a variety of duties ranging from greeting patients and providing directions, to delivering magazines and other comfort items to patients, as well as providing office assistance in departments such as the emergency room and rehabilitation services.

People interested in volunteering can learn more at www.nhch.com or call 881-4420.
