HONOLULU – The Queen’s Medical Center (Queen’s) has been recognized as one of the best hospitals in the United States by Newsweek.

In a list released today, Newsweek ranked Queen’s as the #87 hospital in the country. No other Hawaii hospital is on the list.  The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, is listed as #1.

Newsweek has spent the better part of nine decades covering every aspect of health care, and partnered with Statista Inc., a global market research and consumer data company, to develop a ranking of the world’s best hospitals. One thousand hospitals were selected based on recommendations from medical professionals, patient survey results and medical performance indicators. For the recommendations, Statista collaborated with GeoBlue and invited tens of thousands of doctors, hospital managers and other healthcare professionals to an online survey.

“The Queen’s Medical Center is proud to be recognized by Newsweek as one of the best hospitals in the United States,” said Leslie B. Chun M.D., Chief Medical Officer & Chief Quality Officer, The Queen’s Medical Center. “This is a very strong national showing for our team, who has made it a priority to provide quality health care to all of the people of Hawaii.”
