Magnet Recognized - American Nurses Credentialing Center logo

HONOLULU – The Queen’s Medical Center was notified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) that it has been re-designated as a Magnet organization – their highest institutional recognition for excellence. For the first time, The Queen’s Medical Center – West O’ahu is included in the designation.

The ANCC calls Magnet accreditation a “seal of approval for quality because a Magnet hospital must have superior patient outcomes and patient satisfaction.” Of the 5,500 hospitals in the nation, Magnet recognition is achieved by less than 8% of all hospitals. The Queen’s Medical Center is Hawaii’s only hospital to achieve Magnet status.

“This has been a long, multi-year journey, requiring extraordinary amount of team work and preparation. It is a wonderful tribute to everyone at Queen’s and your commitment to providing the best in patient care,” said Art Ushijima, President & CEO of The Queen’s Health Systems.
